Anthony Goodwin

Anthony Goodwin is a Food Systems & Health Equity professional based in Toledo, Ohio. Anthony developed a passion for food early in his career during his 10-year

tenure in the grocery industry, where he gained expertise in grocery retail operations and store development. He

was able to use his grocery experience in a meaningful way when he developed a full-service, not-for-profit grocery store for ProMedica Health System, a mission-driven, not-for-profit, health care system.

Anthony serves as the Business Innovation Director at National Co+op Grocers (NCG) where he is focused on the research and development of innovative solutions to grow the size, scope, and diversity of the cooperative grocery sector. Within his role at NCG he works with communities across the country who are leveraging the cooperative business model as sustainable and community-owned solutions to address the needs within their neighborhoods. Anthony received a prestigious 20 Under 40 Award in 2021–showcasing dynamic leaders from Northwest Ohio who have distinguished themselves early in their careers and in the community. Anthony has a Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Toledo and a Ph.D. in Public Health with a research focus on policy, food systems, and health equity.
